Career opportunities

Okay... when one of my students invited me to a "girl party," and mentioned that some people might object (to her having a "girl party"), was I supposed to understand that this was not just some issue around sex segregation and not wanting to appear like a second wave feminist (as opposed to whatever the kids are doing these days)? Was I supposed to understand that I was being invited to a tupperware party, only with vibrators? And stuff?

But, it was a hoot, I have to admit, and now I have a more realistic idea of what I might do for a living, should this academia thing not work out. Lingerie, anyone?
