Post-Thanksgiving
Nov. 26th, 2004 09:49 pmOnly the highlights, only the highlights.
I met
girlhappy and company!
My brother and sister-in-law cooked a truly fabulous meal, which we ate, as god commands. (Somehow that "as god commands" phrase sounds much more funny and wry in Spanish, but it will have to do for now).
I accidently shot myself with an epipen just before taking off for my brother's house. You may wonder how. I only got a light dose. I spent about a half hour feeling VERY JUMPY AND ENERGETIC. My brother laughed at me and said that I looked like I was on speed. I was.
Cousins came down from Maine for what has become the traditional post-Thanksgiving lox and bagels brunch. As god commands. We tried feijoas (from cousin-in-law's dad's garden). They are related to guavas, but taste like pawpaws. I saw that, indeed, my nephew can identify the letters of the alphabet. He is sometimes very funny. My cousin, my sister and I played "Home on the Range" on guitar, toy xylophone and harmonica. Eventually it kind of worked.

Now back to Lake Woebegone. (Sigh).
